Should I Let Him Go Because He Doesn’t Believe in God? - NoCV
I have three people working for me, and out of the three, there is this one guy who has always stood out. He is the most hardworking, the most punctual, and honestly, the one I trust the most to deliver when something important needs to be done. But recently, I discovered something about him that has been bothering me. This young man does not believe in God. He told me plainly that he does not believe God exists, and because of that, he does not practice any religion at all. To me, this is dangerous. The way I see it, when you practice a religion, it keeps you in check. You believe there is a hereafter, and that every bad thing you do has consequences. That alone makes people restrain themselves from certain actions. But for someone who doesn’t believe in all these things, I keep asking myself, what then stops him from doing whatever he likes? If he thinks there are no consequences for his actions, couldn’t that be risky in the long run? My wife has already advised me to just pay him his September salary and let him go quietly before he causes any future problem. But truthfully, I am conflicted. This guy has never given me any reason to doubt his character. In fact, he works better than the other two who are even religious. Please, what do you suggest I do? Should I take the safe path and let him go, or am I overthinking this matter?
