What Client Said : I gave my tailor money and materials for two outfits. I clearly told her I needed them for my cousin’s wedding last Saturday. She promised me Thursday evening. By Friday morning, she hadn’t called me, so I went to her shop. Guess what? She was still “finishing” one outfit and the second one wasn’t even cut! I was so angry. I had to go and borrow clothes from a friend because she left me stranded. The annoying part is she was still acting like it wasn’t a big deal. I paid you, you gave me your word, and you disappointed me. Why can’t Nigerian service providers just respect deadlines?
My Side of the Story (Tailor) : Yes, she brought her clothes and money, but what she didn’t say is that she came very late in the evening on Monday, expecting me to deliver by Thursday. That’s just three working days. Most clients don’t understand how much work goes into sewing, especially when you’re already working on older orders. I told her I would try, but not that I could guarantee. On top of that, she kept changing her style, first she wanted flare, then she changed to pencil, then back to flare. I still managed to finish one outfit on time. The other one truly wasn’t ready, and I admit I should have communicated better. But tailoring is not magic. People should learn to give us enough time if they want quality work.
After reading both sides, what do you think really happened? Or who do you think is right?
