Can I deliberately fail some students? - NoCV
I am a teacher in a private school where the school fees is very high. Parents pay so much to enroll their children, yet when it comes to us the teachers, our salary is nothing to write home about. Honestly, it is like we are the ones carrying the school on our head but getting peanuts in return. Despite the poor pay, I have never allowed it to affect the way I teach. I enter my class with full energy, making sure the students understand everything. But the truth is, the economy is biting hard and sometimes I wonder if I am just being foolish. Now a thought has been disturbing me. Is it wrong if I deliberately fail some students? Especially the ones I am certain have parents willing to pay for extra lessons. At least this way, the money I get paid from the extra lessons can complement my little salary. I know they have parents that can afford it, and it will go a long way in helping me survive. But another part of me feels guilty for even thinking like this. Do you think it is wrong for me to consider this option or is it just survival?
