I have been jobless for the past 6 years. It wasn’t easy at all. I depended on family and friends just to survive. Recently, one of my old friends came through for me and helped me secure a very good job. I was extremely grateful and thanked him well. The problem now is this. Ever since I started, he has been demanding that I pay him half of my salary every single month. He said if not for him, I wouldn’t have gotten the job, so I must show appreciation every month. Honestly, is it not better to even go back to being jobless than to be working hard and paying half of my salary to someone who is doing nothing?. My question is, should I just endure and keep paying him or should I stand my ground and risk whatever comes with it?
