I am a young lady who needs advice on how to handle a very delicate matter with wisdom. There is this man in my life who has been a blessing. He practically held my hands through life when I was struggling. He saw me through university, paid for an hotel room when I had nowhere to stay, and even went as far as paying for the one-year rent when I eventually found an apartment during my NYSC. Throughout that period, he gave me pocket money to add to my allowee. When I finished serving, he didn’t stop there, he gave me a job in his company. Now, here is where my problem comes in. I recently got a new job offer with a better pay. Their salary is 10,000 naira more than what he currently pays me. The thing is, I don’t know the right way to break this news to him. I am scared that he might see it as a betrayal after all he has done for me. I also fear he may think I am ungrateful to him after standing by me during my toughest days. So my question is this. How do I respectfully tell him that I have gotten a better job and would like to move on, without ruining the relationship or making him feel used?
