Now I Understand Why People Say Male Bosses Are Better - NoCV
Good day everyone. Please I just need to share this and hear from others who have experienced something similar. In my former place of work, my boss was a man and honestly, he was one of the nicest people I’ve ever worked with. He was understanding, patient, and always willing to listen whenever anyone had a problem. Even if you made a mistake, he would correct you calmly without shouting or embarrassing you in front of others. I only left that job because I got a better-paying offer somewhere else. At first, I was so happy about the move. But ever since I started this new job, I’ve been questioning my decision. My monthly visitor came, and I wasn’t feeling too well. The cramps were bad, and I just wanted to take things slowly that day. But my new boss, who happens to be a woman, was so inconsiderate. Instead of understanding, she started complaining that I wasn’t being serious with my work. She even made a sarcastic comment that I should “learn to plan my mood swings around work.” It really hurt me because I expected a woman to be more empathetic. I used to think it was just rubbish talk when people said male bosses are better than female bosses but honestly, after this experience, I’m beginning to believe it. Now I’ve made up my mind that any job I’ll apply for after this, the first thing I’ll check is the gender of who’s running the company. But please, am I wrong for judging all female bosses because of one bad experience? Those who have worked under both male and female bosses, who did you prefer?
