I cannot ignore the butterflies I get whenever she walks in - NoCV
I am a female hair stylist in Lagos and I need some advice. Lately, I have been dealing with a client who I genuinely like. She comes to my salon almost every week, not just for hair treatments but also to chat and hang out. I enjoy her company, but I am starting to feel like my personal feelings are getting in the way of my work. The challenge started a few months ago when she began calling me directly instead of booking through the salon. Sometimes she asks for last-minute appointments, and even though I have other clients, I feel bad saying no. She also recommends me to her friends and family a lot, which has boosted my business, but it makes me wonder if she only keeps coming because she enjoys the attention or because she values my work. I want to maintain professionalism and keep my reputation intact, but I also do not want to push her away. At the same time, I feel like I cannot ignore the butterflies I get whenever she walks in. The real challenge is balancing my emotions with my work. I have worked hard to build my client base and I do not want personal feelings to mess that up. But at the same time, I do not want to keep my feelings inside and regret not being honest about it later.
