The Day My Barber Blamed The Holy Spirit - NoCV
You know how sometimes, as a guy, you just walk into your regular barbing salon, only to find out that your trusted barber isn’t around? You’ll now see another person sitting there confidently, holding clipper and smiling like he built the salon with his money. That was exactly my case. I had already decided to go and come back when my usual guy would be around, but this new guy stopped me. He said, “Oga, don’t worry, I’m also very good. Just give me a try, you won’t regret it.” Normally, I’m a soft person. I don’t like hurting people’s feelings. So, against my better judgment, I decided to sit down. I told him very clearly, “Please, I want low cut.” He said, “No problem, sir.” Before I could say another word, this guy had already gone too deep with the clipper! The hair was gone. The only hairstyle possible was skin-cut. When I shouted, he looked at me and said, “Ah, oga, sorry o! I don’t even know what came over me. It was the Holy Spirit that made me do it.” I just sat there confused. The Holy Spirit? On top hair? But because I’m also a man of God, I decided to let it go and not cause drama inside the salon. When he finished, I looked in the mirror and nearly cried. I went home reluctantly, thinking my wife would laugh at me. But to my surprise, she screamed, “Wow! You look so handsome! This haircut really fits you!” I even lied and told her I wanted to surprise her with a new look. The next day at work, the compliments continued. Both my male and female colleagues were telling me how clean and fresh I looked. Because of that, skin-cut has now become my official hairstyle. This isn’t even the first time something like this has happened to me. One time, I gave a tailor my cloth to sew, and when I saw what he did, I was so angry. But when I wore it out, people were stopping me to ask for his contact. Even my wife said that was one of the best outfits she had seen on me. At this point, I’ve realized that maybe the problem is me. Sometimes, the things I dislike at first are what others see and love the most. Who else can relate? Have you ever hated a service you paid for, only for everyone around you to start praising it like it’s the best thing they’ve ever seen?
