I Thanked Him, but Now I’m the Office Villain - NoCV
Something happened in my office and I really need your honest opinions. On my birthday, one of my male colleagues sent me 20,000 naira airtime. I was genuinely touched, so I called to thank him properly. I even prayed for him and told him how much I appreciated the gesture. But while talking, I also added that "I wished he had sent it as money instead." I said it politely, o. Because I was really struggling financially that month and would have appreciated cash more. Since then, this guy has been going around telling everyone in the office that I’m ungrateful and that he regrets sending me anything. He doesn’t even talk to me the way he used to. Honestly, I don’t understand what I did wrong. I thanked him, prayed for him, and only expressed how I felt. I didn’t insult him or reject his gift. Was it wrong to say I would have preferred cash? Because right now, it feels like I’m being punished for being honest. What do you people think. Was I wrong, or is he just overreacting?
