Good day everyone, I am currently serving in a secondary school. I recently found out that one of the teachers is in a relationship with an SS3 student. From the best of my knowledge, the boy is already above 18 years old. Now, here is where I need advice. Should I report this issue or should I just mind my business? Seeing as I am only here for one year, and after service, I will leave. Part of me feels it is not worth carrying a problem that might end up backfiring on me. At the same time, I keep asking myself if silence makes me guilty too. Because let’s be honest, this kind of relationship doesn’t sit well at all, especially in a school environment. Even if the boy is of age, it still feels very wrong and unprofessional. But then again, if I speak up, who knows whether the school management will even support me, or if they will turn against me for trying to cause trouble? So please, what would you do if you were in my shoes. Report, or move on quietly?
