I need the wisdom of this community because my mind has been disturbed since last week. I applied for a job. I was invited for the first stage of the interview at their office and everything went fine. The woman who interviewed me sounded very professional and I even left there feeling like I had a strong chance. A few days later, she contacted me again saying I had been shortlisted for the second round. To my surprise, she invited me to an hotel and told me to meet her there on a specific date and time. At first, I thought maybe the company booked a hall in the hotel for their recruitment process. But that is not the case. Now I am worried. I noticed a ring on her finger during the first interview which suggests she is married. I am wondering if this second round is truly about the job or if there is another motive entirely. I am very desperate for work because things are hard for me financially, but at the same time, I don’t want to find myself in a situation that will compromise my dignity or even put me in trouble. I keep asking myself if a legitimate company would ever use an hotel room as the venue for an interview. I also keep thinking about what her husband would say if he finds out. Has anyone here ever faced something like this before, and do you think I should go for that meeting or walk away completely? Maybe I am assuming wrongly.
