Two of my workers are in an intimate relationship, they are sleeping with each other. It has started affecting their productivity. Meanwhile, in our company policy, office romance is clearly against the rules. The sad part is that when I called them one after the other to my office, the girl pleaded on the guy's behalf. She said that if I must sack anybody, I should sack her and leave the guy that she is ready to take the fall. While the guy came in and said the complete opposite. He blamed everything on the girl and told me how badly he needs this job. The situation where I find myself is that, I can't forgive the both of them because they can't keep working together. I either sack one person, and forgive the other or sack the both of them. My mind is telling me to sack the both of them so that my conscience will be clear and nobody will accuse me of favoritism.
