What this Cake vendor did to me - NoCV
I ordered cake from this my work colleague who is also into catering. Since we work in the same organization, most of my contacts are her contacts too. On the day she was supposed to deliver my cake, I was at home preparing and thinking of different techniques to devour the cake. Whether I eat it with Ice cream or I just buy Fanta. I was fantasizing eating it with fork while watching a movie. To my greatest surprise, before she even brought the cake, she went ahead to post it on her WhatsApp status, announcing that my cake has been dispatched for delivery. Because most of our colleagues have her number, they immediately knew the cake was for me. Before I knew it, five of my colleagues had already appeared in my house, uninvited. By the time the cake finally arrived, it was no longer my cake to enjoy the way I wanted. I had to share it with them, and the painful part is that the cake was very expensive. I felt cheated because I did not get to enjoy what I paid for. I confronted her about it and asked for at least half of my money back, but she flatly refused. She said she only posted it as part of marketing her work and that she did not invite anybody to my house. Now I am confused. As a service provider, is it not wrong to post a client’s order without their permission? Even if she meant no harm, did she not indirectly ruin my special moment? Do you think I am overreacting by demanding a refund, or should service providers be more careful about respecting customer privacy?
