I have been working for this man for 3 years now, and I can honestly say he has been one of the best bosses I’ve ever had. Sometimes, during weekends, he calls me over to his house so we can discuss work-related matters or upcoming projects. Since his wife is not based in Nigeria, he is usually alone whenever I visit. Here’s the part that really confuses me. Whenever I go to see him, I sometimes end up in his bedroom. He even dresses up in front of me casually, as if I’m not even there. But in all these years, he has never once made a move on me. Not even a compliment, not even a slip of the tongue. Nothing. It is making me feel somehow. Is it that he doesn’t find me attractive at all? Or is he simply drawing a line and showing that work is work, and personal boundaries must be respected? Honestly, it has started affecting my self-esteem. I find myself asking, am I invisible? Or is this just what professionalism truly looks like?
