Good day everyone, please I am sharing this story because I honestly don’t know where else to turn for advice. Our house rent was about to expire, coupled with many other financial responsibilities and heavy gbese on my head. I was already at my lowest point, and I kept wondering how much lower I could possibly go. Out of desperation, I ended up doing something very foolish. My boss had about 3 million naira from his business with me. Instead of keeping it safe, I convinced myself that I could double it quickly, use the profit to settle house rent, clear debts, and even have something remaining. At that point, I wasn’t even thinking about the repercussions, I just wanted relief. As luck would have it, the gamble worked. I turned the 3 million into 6.7 million naira. My plan was to return my boss’s 3 million and keep 3.7 million for myself. Out of excitement and because I had no one else to share this foolish success with, I opened up to my second, a lady I trusted. That turned out to be my biggest mistake. She went straight and informed our boss. Now, my boss is demanding not just his 3 million, but also the 3.7 million profit I made, claiming the entire money belongs to him since I used his capital without permission. He even threatened to report me to the police if I don’t “give Caesar what belongs to Caesar.” I have already returned his initial 3 million, but I have refused to hand over the profit. Because of this, I have stopped going to work, living in constant fear and regret. Please, what can I do in this situation?
