This Wealthy Client Of Mine - NoCV
Please, I genuinely need advice on this matter. What do you do when a very wealthy woman decides she wants to go into Tech and pays you a huge amount of money upfront to teach her? I mean very huge money. She paid in full and made it clear that she is fully committed to learning. The problem is not her enthusiasm. The problem is that her brain is simply not responding to the teaching. I have tried every possible approach, slow pace, repetition, practical examples, visual explanations, patience, encouragement, you name it. Yet, she is still struggling with very basic HTML. Things beginners usually grasp easily. What makes it even more worrying is that she keeps telling me her goal is to learn all programming languages. Python, Cobra, and many others. Meanwhile, HTML alone is already overwhelming her. If you truly understand how simple HTML is, you will understand why I am deeply concerned. Now, some people may say I should politely refund her money, but let me be honest with myself and with you all. The money she paid is really huge, and I would be lying if I said refunding it would be easy or painless. At the same time, I don’t want to deceive her or sell her false hope. Tech is not for everyone, and she is really struggling. What is the right thing to do here?
