The Logical Choice - NoCV

When I first started my business, the very first person I employed was a lady. At the time, it felt like a small decision, but looking back now, it was one of the most important choices I ever made. She didn’t just become a worker, she became my backbone, my emotional support, and effectively my second-in-command. In many ways, we started the business together. Those early days were brutal. The business was unstable, money was tight, and failure felt closer than success. There were moments I seriously considered giving up. During those times, she was the one who kept encouraging me, reminding me why I started in the first place. When I struggled to pay staff salaries, she made a decision that still humbles me till today. She continued working without collecting a salary. At some point, when I needed a bank loan to keep the business alive, she stood as my guarantor, fully aware of the risk involved. If this business is still standing today, a large part of that credit belongs to her. As time went on, things eventually stabilized. The business began to grow, and that was when another lady came into the picture. She was highly skilled, well-connected, and understood growth at a different level. Through her network and strategic input, she brought in investors and opportunities I could never have accessed on my own. To put it simply, if the business was worth 100 million at some point, she helped scale it to 500 million. Now, I’m at a stage where I want to step back and enjoy life. I need to leave the business in the hands of one person, someone who will handle daily operations, make major decisions, and essentially run it like an owner, while I receive returns. Here is my dilemma. Without using emotions, who is the most logical choice? The woman who was with me when the business was nothing, or the woman who helped it grow into something massive? If you had to decide without emotions, who would you choose, and please give your reasons. Thank you.
